Bad omen to duryodhana

Duryodhana made bheeshma ,their army chief with every ones consent.it was a grand and colorful ceremony.but bad omens appeared to them.blood,bones and stones rained at that time.thunderstorms with lightning struck them.by seeing all these things,every one lost their enthusiasm and fell silent.they were afraid of what was waiting for them in future.Duryodhana performed rituals to negate the bad foreboding.his parents were stricken with grief with these developments. but duryodhana pacified them that everything was going to be alright.taking his parents blessings,he started for the warfield.Bheeshma was in the front leading the armies.they reached kurukshethra.then he ordered them to prepare there for their stay.

Balarama came to see Dharmaraju.Dharmaraju recieved him with due respect and saluted him with reverence.Sree krishna,BHeema,Arjuna,Nakula and sahadva also stood up and saluted him.Drupada and Virata also bowed to him with respect.

Then balarama said like this. Both pandavas and Kouravas are relatives equally to sree krishna.but he is biasses in favor of Arjuna.so,he helps pandavas out of his way.as arsult,pandavas would win and kouravas are going to face death and deprivation of kingdom.

I cant digest all these things.I cant make the things better than krishna.so,I would leave this place and go to SAraswarhi theerdham.saying so,he took leave of them and left for Saraswathi theerdham.

Rukmi is the brother of RUkmini. He is a great warrior.  He came to pandavas along with his army.Dharmaraju recieved him warmly.he spoke irrationally with Arjuna before everyone.

While Arjuna was with SREE krishna and others,he talked like this.

Arjuna,are you of afraid of the war?dont fear. I am here to help you.no one can defeat me.I can win over any enemy,however mighty he may be.

He talked all this rubbish before SREE krishna who belittled and defeated him.Arjuna lost his temper. But with great difficulty he controlled himself and answered RUkmi like this.

Rukmi! You go and help who ever need it.one more word.I fought many battles earlier. Even now I can look after myself in similar fashion.but there is vast difference between then and now. Those battles I won single handedly. but now I have the backing of Sree Krishna.so,how can I be worried about the consequences of this war?even otherwise .I am not afraid of anything.so,I dont need your help.you go and help those who require your help.

From there,Rukmi went to Hasthinapuram.even with Duryodhana he talked in the same vein.Duryodhana also shunned him saying that he did not want his help.Rukmi returned to his town demoralised,because no one entertained his way of talking to them.

Like this,Balarama and Rukmi did not participate in the great war due to these reasons...balarama for his deep love towards both the sides,and Rukmi for his insolent way of talking.

All other kings participated actively either on pandavas side or kouravas side.
